You probably have heard the stat: Matt Ryan just set an NFL record by throwing touchdowns to 13 different receivers. Here’s the final tally:

And while I’ve heard this stat mentioned in a number of places, I never heard who was the previous record holder. So I ran the numbers myself.  Brad Johnson set the record in 2003 with 12, breaking the record first set back in 1947 by Sammy Baugh.  Then, Tom Brady tied Johnson two years later.  After running the numbers, this doesn’t seem like a stat that’s all that meaningful, but here’s a list of all instances where a quarterback threw touchdowns to at least 10 different receivers on the same team in one year:
