The SRS ratings this week didn’t change much, with very few meaningful games among top teams.

Penn State, Notre Dame, Washington, and Iowa State fell a bit in close wins over bad teams, while Oklahoma State and Iowa suffered losses. The only other top-25 teams (by the SRS) to lose lost to even better teams: Michigan lost to Wisconsin, and N.C. State losing to Wake Forest.

Right now, three Big 10 teams crack the top four, with Georgia and Auburn combining with #1 Alabama to give the SEC three top-10 teams. The full week 12 SRS ratings are below. As always thanks to Dr. Peter R. Wolfe for providing the weekly game logs.

And below are the weekly results. Louisville crushed Syracuse, 56-0, for the most impressive win of the week.

Is the ACC the best conference in college football? That’s what the SRS says right now:

The conference does have two signature wins: Miami’s 41-8 thrashing over Notre Dame, and Clemson’s neutral site victory over Auburn. But there are some low key wins, too. Northwestern is 8-3 and ranks 24th in the SRS, but lost to Duke — the 10th ranked team in the ACC — 41-17. Boise State lost on the road to Washington State 47-44, but otherwise has just one loss this year: a 42-23 home loss to Virginia, the 12th-ranked team in the ACC.

As for losses? Well, the conference has six losses to Notre Dame, Alabama, and Penn State, but none of those came by top-3 ACC schools. The only non-conference/non-Notre Dame loss by one of the top 5 schools in the ACC was North Carolina State’s opening day loss to South Carolina, 35-28.
